
King Von (real name Dayvon Daquan Bennett) was born on 8 August of 1994 in Chicago, Illinois, to Walter Bennett and Taesha. Three siblings belonged to his mother, and six of his half-brothers come from his father. Bennett was mostly cared for by his mother due to his father's frequent time spent in prison. When he was 11, his father was killed and later killed. Bennett was sentenced to his 16th year being in jail. The incident marked the start for a series of interactions with law enforcement. Afterward, he was awarded college credits from South Suburban College in South Holland, Illinois. In an effort to rehabilitate himself in the wake of legal problems, Bennett began pursuing his career in music, collaborating regularly with his fellow rapper Lil Durk.Although "Welcome to O'Block" was the sole album that studio Von recorded during his lifetime the posthumous album "What it means to be King" made its debut posthumously in March of 2022.
